Alfonso Fuentes
Alfonso Luis Fuentes Colón is a Puerto Rican composer, pianist, poet, and educator. Writes music for solo, chamber ensembles and symphony orchestras. His recitals as pianist of improvisation expose a variety of ‘classical’ music styles; third stream -where he incorporates classical, jazz and tropical music-; and folklore mainly from Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. Writes poetry, short stories and aesthetics. Serves as an Associated professor of Orchestration and Composition in the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music. Also works as a ‘commercial’ musician.

Planeaciones Ancestrales is one of the most important works of the Latin American symphonic repertoire of the 20th Century.
